In fact, Andorra, in the latter part of the 20th century has broken numerous growth records (population, economic and qualitative). With around 70,000 inhabitants of which a little less than a third are Andorran, the principality welcomes each year more than eleven million tourists who come to enjoy the unspoiled countryside, the cultural and historic past, but above all to benefit from the inexpensive shopping. It was from approximately 1250 that the feudal rights of sovereignety were constituted between the Count of Foix and the Bishop of Urguel. This was confirmed in 1288 by treaty (isn't history wonderful?) Since this time, Andorra continued growing, particularly for ski-ing with over 2.5 million ski passes sold each winter, which makes Andorra one of the busiest station in Europe. Sadly, too many people think that Andorra stop at Pas de la Case, but you have only to drive through the Col d'Envalira or take the tunnel to discover another world and all the beauty of the Pyrenean villages. As to the bar restaurant, El Mosquit, it is located at El Tarter, 1750 metres above sea level, on the only road which crosses Andorra between Soldeu and Canillo.
